About Me and Clarity’s Vision

I’m Mary Browne, an ICB-licensed bookkeeper and virtual assistant based in Walthamstow, East London.

I created Clarity to help creatives, coaches and small organisations feel more organised, more confident and less overwhelmed by their bookkeeping and business admin.

Before Clarity, I spent 26 years in Further Education, teaching English and managing a curriculum department. My work involved people, budgets, planning and solving everyday problems. It taught me to listen, explain things clearly and help people find a way forward.

I also work as an actor and singer and have organised events and workshops. I understand the juggling involved in creative work: irregular income, competing commitments and paperwork that can easily slip down the list.

Clarity brings these experiences together. I offer practical help with your finances, admin and systems, with time to understand you and how your business works.

Practical help, lasting confidence

The idea of “teaching someone to fish” has stayed with me throughout my teaching career. At Clarity, it means helping you understand your business as well as helping you run it.

That might mean explaining a financial report, working out a manageable way to organise receipts or helping you prepare for a tax bill. You can ask questions, build your understanding and feel more confident about your decisions.

You choose how much you want to learn and how much you want to delegate. My role is to work alongside you, provide reliable support and make things easier.
